About Us

The Twin Cities Region faces many challenges that affect housing, commercial and industrial development, revitalization of core cities, the transportation system, and regulation. As a land use professional, you want to remain connected to trends influencing how our region develops in the 21st century. The Sensible Land Use Coalition is the only organization of its kind in the region that brings together stakeholders from all facets of development to learn and discuss the issues, and build relationships that work toward a successful outcome. It has had a marked influence on the development of the greater Twin Cities Region.

For 35 years the Sensible Land Use Coalition has:
  • Been a local leader in the peer-to-peer, cross-disciplinary exchange of information and ideas among Twin Cities land use professionals;
  • Used a balanced "sensibleā€ approach in providing land use education to the public and private sectors.
  • Created a monthly community by hosting low cost, accredited, educational forums addressing timely and relevant issues.

Who are members?

  • 10% Architects, engineers, surveyors and aggregate producers
  • 23% Builders, developers and contractors
  • 22% Attorneys, planners other support groups and interested parties
  • 45% Public Agencies
The Sensible Land Use Coalition is a 501(c) nonprofit educational organization.
